41 of My All-Time Favorite Self-Care Tips16 min read

Breathe. Let go. And remind yourself that this very moment is the only one you know you have for sure.”

-Oprah

How often do you find yourself entangled with all the mundane work and forget that something called “self-care” even exists?

I know what it feels like. I have been there too. There have been times when I have struggled to get out of the rut and start an amazing self-care routine. But, you know what the good news is? It is never too late to start! The day you decide to commit to things that are good for you is the day you will sense that things are changing for the better.

Most of the points that are listed below might not be as time-consuming as you would have thought. Once you adapt yourself to practicing self-care every day, I tell you, there is no going back. People will run to ask you what you’re doing for that absolute glow up! And you will start to feel so much better and lighter about yourself that even the thought of discontinuing these practices will start to haunt you.

Try The 21-Day Challenge

They say it takes 21 days to create a habit.

So why not pick some of the points from this list, and challenge yourself to keep up with these for 21 days to make it a healthy habit?

Here Are 41 of My Favourite Self-Care Tips!

1.  As soon as you wake up, make it a point to drink a glass of water. Your body needs it after eight hours of dehydration.

Lukewarm? All the more better!

2.  Aromatherapy. Officially a green signal to hoard on lots of essential oils!

My personal fav: lavender.

Tough, you should avoid inhaling air diffused essential oils for prolonged period as it can lead to irritation.

3.  A skincare routine. Psst, your skin needs nourishment too.

9 step regimen two times a day is not a big deal. Seriously. :/

4.  Making yourself a cup of green tea. Nothing can beat sipping on a cup of steaming green tea while reading a good book.

Hmmmmm!

5.  Taking time to journal every day. Journaling is a great way to channel your thoughts and feelings.

“What the heck just happened with me today?! Wait lemme write it down.”

6.  Walking barefoot on the grass. Did I tell you that it feels like walking in heaven? Well, not just that, it will also help in improving your eyesight (double win!)

I’m glad, grass doesn’t hurt.

7.  Dancing to your favorite disco song. Even dancing for just five minutes can lift your spirit.

This. is. all. the. inspiration. you. needed. today.

8.  DIY home facials. Who said you needed to put on your jeans and visit the nearby beauty parlor? Especially when you can DIY your facial at home!

You can try Kaolin Clay face mask to lessen those stubborn comedones!

9.  Limiting time on social media. After all, excess of anything is bad.

*cries intensify*

Try limiting your screen time using the in-built screen timer of your phone or downloading an app.

10.  Getting an 8-hour beauty sleep. Do I even need to tell you why it is so important?

DND.

11.  Establishing healthy boundaries. You do not need to assent to everything.

Repeat after me, “I embrace my entire and healthy self.”

12.  Exercising. Yep. It is a natural antidepressant.

“Did you say exercise?” 🙁

13.  Listening to music – or even learning music. Because music is a synonym of calm.

Music is lob. Period.

14.  Practicing more of what you love. Do not disengage from things that make you happy.

Grr, just make sure you don’t end up being a complain box.

15.  Reading books. There is no ideal book that you should be reading. You can pick up any that you think you would like.

Didn’t this doggie tell you that reading makes you smarter?

16.  Listening to informative podcasts while doing chores. Yes, you can absolutely do that!

“I feel as if I have become Einstein after discovering this!” *gasps*

17.  Make a to-do list, it will help you to get a clear picture of what should be your priority and what shouldn’t.

I hope your to-do list isn’t similar to Patrick’s.

18.  Establishing a routine. Discipline and a proper routine is the key to achieving things.

(Onto achieving bigger things!)

19.  Eating the right food. Ditch that huge burger when you go to that restaurant the next time.

Avo-cadoooo? Is that you?

20.  Declutter your house. Clean surroundings can do wonders.

Yes, get rid of that clutter!

21. Self-massage to de-stress after a long tiring day.

Ah, all the lovely
feels!

22.  Acupressure. Karela roller, foot roller, sujok rings, pressure balls… get ‘em all!

(tip: don’t overdo it.) 😉

23.  Sun water therapy. Pour water into a clear glass pitcher or a clear glass bottle. Cover it with something that isn’t plastic or metal (you can even cover it with a cloth) and leave it out in the sun for a few hours where the sun rays fall directly on the glass (preferably from morning till late afternoon) and get it inside your home before the sun sets. Drink this elixir every day for numerous health benefits!

I only drink water. Didn’t you know?

Read more about this therapy here.

24.  Soothing eye gel packs!

Cheap alternative: CUCUMBERS!

25.  Steaming face twice a week. You will soon become a glowing Goddess! Umm… or a glowing God. 😛

Whohoo.

26.  Kansa foot rub. Take a small amount of clarified butter (or coconut oil) and rub it in your feet with the help of a Kansa Vatki. After 10 minutes of massage wash it off. You will immediately feel a difference when you put your feet on the ground. Perform this every day before sleeping for best results.

Shhh. Do not talk, and rub all the goodness in.

27.  Home spa. Because you deserve a day off to de-stress yourself.

It’s a self-care day bruh!

28.  Get a pet. Pets can be great therapists you know.

Just……don’t pet a snake.

29.  Laugh till your stomach hurts.

Bwahahahaha. Sorry don’t mind my snort.

30.  Meditate. You do not need to get on the mountains to attain spirituality. Just a few minutes of unwavering focus is all you need to practice.

Breathe in. Breathe out.

31.  Try new recipes. And don’t mind if it goes wrong! 🙂

Caution: do not burn down your own house or else you will have to live on the streets.

32.  Start saving money. Decide on an amount that you want to save every week or month.

Yas!

33.  Make a financial journal to keep a track of all your monetary transactions.

“Where does all my money go?!”

34.  Gardening. You can try planting flowers or green chilies, lemon, tomatoes, etc.

Eh.

35.  Paint. It is an excellent way to relieve stress.

Cover everyyything in paint!

36.  Revamp your space. Change up a few things in your room.

Even if it is just changing the direction of your cloth pile.

37.  Drinking copper, silver or gold charged water for improved immunity.

No side effects, I promise. :))

38.  Use Healing crystals. Clear quartz, Rose quartz, Amethyst, Tiger’s eye, Black obsidian, Lapiz lazuli, etc. are great for beginners!

Wear the crystals as jewelry or throw a handful of them under the mattress.

39.  Add a little milk or rose water to your bath. Did you know Cleopatra used to bathe in 700 donkeys’ milk every day?

Though, you do not need to find donkeys for that!

40.  Make a vision board. Take a paper and list out what you want in life.

(You have the power to manifest what you want in your future).

41.  Learn something new. You never know which thing will end up opening more doors for you.

Or…like…a happy escape.

When you consistently practice self-care you will radiate love and positivity all around you. And, it will truly be felt by the people you meet.

    2. I’ve been browsing on-line greater than three hours these days, but I by no means discovered any interesting article like yours. It’s lovely worth enough for me. Personally, if all webmasters and bloggers made excellent content as you did, the web will probably be much more useful than ever before.
